Closed Deck Conversions are designed to brace the cylinders from twisting/flexing under extreme pressure.  They do a great job too!  We bore a pilot hole in the water jacket, and we tap in the pins.  We then face the deck surface to clean off the top of the pins, making it flush with the deck surface.  On its own, this conversion is an "All Star" Upgrade for any turbo application where the block is put through stress. We can add pins to Wet Sleeves as well, as the principal and installation is the exact same.    Once the pins are installed and the deck faced, we then torque plate hone the cylinders.  The cylinders MUST be worked after this conversion, as the pins do put some slight pressure around the top of the bore, which will need re honed.
