Our Padded Shipping Box will guarantee your block is insured.  We put a lot of time into the design of the shipping box because it is crucial for the block to arrive flawless.  If these blocks are dented on the head gasket surface, the block could be totally destroyed.  Therefor, we need to have a strong and insured box.  To do this, we make sure we have 2" Min on all sides of the block with high density Styrofoam (as per Fed Ex regulations).   Our outer box is double walled, and has a 250 lbs. weight rating, and our inner box holds the block in a sealed dust bag, and is spray foamed into place, so it does not move in shipping.  This also protects the corners in case of a box dropping off a fed ex truck.   Not to say they cannot damage the block ( they can make mistakes ) but your block will be fully insured (including core value).  Therefore if a situation ever does come up, we have everything insured and can send you another block.   This combination of a 24x24x24 double walled box, a 20x20x20 box, a 4x8 sheet of pink Styrofoam, and a can of expanding foam is the breakdown of what consist of our padded box, and the reasoning behind the cost.
